UPDATE: Pedestrian hit along 32nd Street

NEW DETAILS: A man is seriously injured in an accident along 32nd street in Yuma.

Yuma police say it happened around 5:20 Monday afternoon in the 3500 block of West 32nd Street.

Officer say a 39-year-old man was walking westbound when a Nissan Pathfinder hit him.

Paramedics took the victim to Yuma Regional Medical Center, but he was later airlifted to a Phoenix hospital.

Investigators say neither speed nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash.

Eyewitness accounts indicate it happened just before 5:30 Monday evening near Avenue B and 32nd Street.

Police say a 39-year old man was riding along 32nd street when a car hit him. He suffered serious injuries in the crash. Officers tell us he has been airlifted to Phoenix for treatment.

Still no word on if the driver involved will face any charges.
