2nd Annual “Battle of The Bands” support local music scene

Hundreds packed the Yuma historic theater for the 2nd annual ” Battle of The Bands ” .

Five local bands fought for a $5,000 cash prize and bragging rights.

Lindsay Benacka , the Arts and Culture Program Manager at the Yuma Art Center said the event is an opportunity to highlight the diverse music scene in the community and support local musicians.

” Almost every single band that I talk to is planning on using that to either record an album, go on a tour. Or buy the equipment that they need to further their band. So we’re investing that money right back into the local arts community which is our entire mission, ” said Benacka .

The winning band of the 2nd annual ” Battle of The Bands ” event was chosen by audience members.
