No Democratic censure for Sinema
Arizona progressives will have to wait until next year to censure Senator Krysten Sinema .
Members of the Progressive Caucus feel the freshman Senator has failed to uphold key aspects of the party platform.
They question her decision to vote in favor of key appointees to President Donald Trump’s administration. They’re particularly angered by her support for Attorney General William Barr and Interior Secretary David Bernhardt.
Caucus members also cite Sinema’s failure to vote in favor of ” net neutrality ” legislation. That measure requires internet companies to treat all content equally.
Progressives had hoped the nearly 800 members of the party’s state committee would vote on the censure Saturday. However, the proposal was introduced too late.
They won’t get another opportunity to bring up the censure until January of 2020 .
