Imperial County adds time for budget preparation

Imperial County is providing additional time today for preparation of the budget, due to employees and the public not having an opportunity to review budget related documents.

According to the executive office, the Board of Supervisors voted to continue today’s Budget Hearing on September 17 at 10:00 a.m.

The County of Imperial followed all laws and regulations per the Pursuant to Government Code 54957.5 (b) by providing adequate public and agenda notice, provided copies to the media and made copies available for public review at the Clerk of the Board’s Office.

The city says information in the packet made public was content that was verbally presented to the Board of Supervisors by Deputy County Executive Officer Mayra Widmann during today’s open session. Attendees of the meeting received hard copies of the board agenda letter.

The Count of Imperial says they make every effort to be open and transparent through improved outreach methods and online based technology to foster complete employee and public involvement.
