Border Patrol agents provide aid to woman having stroke
A 63-year-old woman was provided emergency medical care from Yuma Sector agents after suffering a stroke Thursday afternoon.
According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Wellton Station agents working the checkpoint were advised by a driver that his mother, a passenger in the vehicle, was having a stroke. Agents immediately directed them to secondary inspection and requested medical services.
CBP said several agents certified as emergency medical technicians were able to evaluate the woman and provide emergency care in order to stabilize her until an ambulance arrived.
The woman was transported to the local regional medical center by ambulance for further care.
