YUHSD to host annual College, Career & Military Fair

Yuma Unified High School District ( YUHSD ) is having its annual College, Career, and Military Fair at Gila Ridge High School, October 1.

The fair is open to all students throughout the Yuma County. It will be at the Hawk Gym and doors are set to open at 5:30 p.m.

YUHSD says that Arizona’s major universities, community colleges, different military academies, ROTC representatives, and career technical programs will be at the fair. There will also be businesses from around the county there to preview internship and future job prospects.

“Our College, Career and Military Fair is a way for students across the county to see what opportunities are out there,” YUHSD Superintendent Gina Thompson said. ” While our campuses have traditionally hosted the event, students and families are welcome from all over the region. College-going culture is truly for everyone and it starts early, so even ninth and tenth graders can benefit from gathering as much knowledge as they can about what doors may open for them in the future. ”

This year’s fair theme is Dr. Seuss ‘ , Oh, the Places You’ll Go. Every year the fair rotates between campuses in the Yuma District. Gila Ridge High School is located at 7150 E. 24th Street in Yuma.

If you are interested in having a table at the event, you can contact Gila Ridge Counselor Sonia Rebek at srebek @yumaunion.org.
