USPS hosting public meeting on proposed relocation
The United States Postal Service (USPS) is considering a relocation of retail services from their current Imperial location, and is inviting residents to a public meeting to explain the proposal on September 26.
The Imperial Main Post Office is located at 116 N. Imperial Ave., Imperial, CA 92251. USPS said they still have yet to determine a new location, but are trying to find somewhere as close as possible to their current location. This relocation is because of a lease preemption.
The post office is hosting a public meeting on September 26 at 11:00 a.m. at the Imperial Main Post Office. There will be postal officials there to explain the proposal and listen to comments from attendees.
USPS said the public will have 30 days from the meeting to submit written comments for the Postal Service’s consideration before they make their final decision.
Written comments can be submitted to:

The Postal Service claims they do not receive tax dollars for operating expenses and rely entirely on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund operations.
