San Luis HS security guard fired after arrested for sexual conduct with minor
Police arrested a San Luis High School security guard after she was accused of having sex with a student of the district, Thursday.
Yuma Union High School District ( YUHSD ) took immediate action by firing that employee.
The school district confirmed San Luis administrators and district office personnel informed the San Luis Police Department ( SLPD ) of information that led to the arrest of the security guard.
SLPD booked the woman on 44-charges tied to having sex with a minor.
The former YUHSD employee appeared in court Friday morning in San Luis and a victim’s advocate from Amberly’s Place appeared on behalf of the minor.
The judge confirmed there was probable cause for the woman’s arrest.
Parent, Rosa Carrazco , told News 11 that this information was shocking because she’s in the process of enrolling her son at the high school.
Carrazco said, ” Oh my gosh, I didn’t know this. Well, I hope if that’s so, I hope they do something about it because there’s a lot of kids especially my kids too, that’s going to be enrolled here and I really want the best education and best protection in school. ”
The school district released a statement saying in part:
“The health and safety of all Yuma Union High School District students is a primary and most important value of all board members and staff at the district. We will continue to do our utmost to provide a safe learning environment for all students.”
The former YUHSD employee is being held on a $50,000 bond and is expected to appear back in court next week.
