Labor Day Weekend; SLPD holding DUI and traffic detail

The San Luis Police Department will be conducting a DUI Enforcement Detail and Traffic Enforcement Detail Labor Day Weekend.

These details are set to start on August 30 until September 2. These details are held in effort to detect, stop, and arrest alcohol and drug impaired drivers. They are also held to conduct traffic enforcement activities to promote safe and attentive driving.

The funding for these details is provided through a grant awarded by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The funds are said the help the San Luis Police Department increase the number of officers on patrol throughout the city, with the goal of minimizing the number of traffic related incidents.

The San Luis Police Department would like to encourage all residents of San Luis and visiting citizens to be safe and conscious drivers this Labor Day Weekend. Officers advise if you plan to drink alcoholic beverages, make sure to have a designated sober driver.
