17-year-old teen crashes into gardener’s trailer

A 17-year-old female driving eastbound on 12th Street flipped her vehicle after it struck a gardener’s trailer Tuesday morning, according to the Somerton Cocopah Fire Department.

The Somerton Cocopah Fire Department ( SCFD ) said they responded to a single-vehicle rollover at 372 E. 12th Street in Somerton .

Upon arrival, they found the Mitsubishi sedan on its roof and the driver lying next to it.

Firefighters said the gardener, who was cutting the lawn at the time, stated the driver struck his gardeners trailer and that the ramp launched the vehicle over onto its roof.

Reports show it is unknown at what speed the Mitsubishi was traveling at this time.

SCFD said the driver had her seat belt on and remained in the vehicle until she was able to unlatch herself and self-extricate.

SCFD Paramedics examined the driver and placed her into full cervical spine precautions due to the nature of the accident.

She was transported to the nearest hospital for further evaluation.
