Man who lost his wife in El Paso shooting invites the public to her funeral
An El Paso, Texas, man whose wife was killed in last week’s shooting in the city has invited the public to her funeral, explaining he doesn’t have any other family in town who can attend.
According to New York Post, Margie Reckard, 63, was married to Antonio Basco, 61, for 22 years before she was killed in the August 3 Massacre.
Reports show Perches Funeral Home shared a heart-wrenching Facebook post inviting everyone to attend Reckard’s Friday service.
The service will be held at the funeral home’s Northeast location, 4946 Hondo Pass, from 5 to 9 p.m., the post said.
“Let’s show him & his wife some El Paso love,” the funeral home posted.
“I’ve been lost. I’m like a puppy run away from its momma,” Basco said. “But my wife, she’d say get up off your rear end and grow up. Because now I’ve got to take care of the bills, take care of the cat.”
New York Post reports that Reckard’s family will be coming in from out of town but welcomes anyone to grieve with and support them.
