Pet Talk: Meet Tot and Katie

For this week’s Pet Talk, we meet two dogs, one whose size does not define his confidence and the other, a playful ball of energy.

Both are up for adoption at the PetSmart store near Yuma Palms Regional Center.

First is Tot, a five-year-old tan Chihuahua.

Tot loves to jump up in your lap and beg for kisses. He is the perfect size for a cuddle buddy and just wants to be wherever you are. He does best with older children.

Chihuahuas are described as charming, graceful and sassy. They are tiny dogs with a huge personality. These alert and amusing ” purse dogs ” stand among the oldest breeds.

And then there is Katie.

Katie is a tan one-year-old shepherd mix.

All herding breeds share an instinctive ability to control the movement of other animals.

These breeds were developed to gather, herd, and protect livestock. In general, these intelligent dogs make excellent companions and respond beautifully to training exercises.

Both pets are available for adoption at the PetSmart store near Yuma Palms.

Also, at the PetSmart store, this weekend is the national Clear the Shelter event.

There will be adoption ambassadors present in-store to help pet parents get started with their new pet!
