ICSO seek suspect wanted for attempted rape of minor
UPDATE:
A Brawley man identified as 46-year-old David Garcia Tovar is being sought by Imperial County Sheriff on charges of attempted rape of a minor.
Sgt. Jorge Cabanillas said Tovar was with a minor on Friday evening at an undisclosed place east of Brawley . He said Tovar allegedly attempted to rape the young girl, but the victim was able to fight him off.
Cabanillas said Tovar fled but is believed to be in the area. The victim didn’t suffer any injuries during the alleged attack.
Tovar is described as being 6-feet-one-inch tall and weighing 186 pounds , with brown hair and brown eyes. Cabanillas said he’s a long-time local resident.
” We don’t know of him being armed. He obviously is dangerous in the sense that he attempted to sexually assault a minor, but we don’t have any other information of him being armed. But he’s definitely somebody that we want to locate pretty quick, ” Cabanillas said.

A suspect from Brawley is currently being sought by Imperial County Sheriff’s deputies for the attempted rape of a minor.
According to the sheriff’s office, 46-year-old David Garcia-Tovar is described as a male with brown hair, brown eyes, six feet-one-inch tall, and weighing 186 pounds .
