Former AZ Rep. Don Shooter in ICU

Former Arizona Rep. Don Shooter was hospitalized and is in intensive care, according to Senate President Karen Fann .

The state lawmaker confirmed Wednesday that Shooter was hospitalized at a Phoenix hospital and shared she is praying for his family at this time. Shooter remains hospitalized and on life support.

Russ Clark, a former Yuma County Supervisor, shared a post with us that was written by Shooter’s wife, Susan, stating, ” Donie has been in the hospital for the last five days and keeps getting worse and worse. And they just moved him into the ICU. Blockage in area that was operated on. Please pray. ”

Shooter, a Yuma Republican, was expelled from the Arizona House of Representatives on February 2018 due to a lengthy pattern of sexual misconduct.

We spoke to Shooter in 2018 regarding the expulsion from the Arizona Legislature.

Shooter first made it to the Arizona State Capitol in 2010 as a state senator for District 24.

In 2012, he won the state senate seat in District 13.

He also kept the seat when he ran against Terri Woodmansee in 2014.

In 2016 Shooter ran to be a representative for District 13, and was able to take the top spot in that race.

Shooter ran for the Arizona State Senate in District 13 following the scandal in 2018 but lost in the primary election against Sen. Sine Kerr.
