City of Yuma asking for community input in city administrator search

The City of Yuma is asking for the public’s input as the search for the next city administrator continues.

According to the city’s website, those who wish to participate can submit their input via an online survey until Aug. 12.

You can find the survey by clicking here.

City officials said the submissions are confidential and will not be modified. The responses will also be shared with the Yuma City Council as well as the top candidates.

“An important element of the recruitment process is community input, which is intended to help the City Council develop a more thorough and thoughtful candidate profile and process,” said Jennifer Reichelt , senior associate with The Novak Consulting Group, leading the city’s recruitment for this position.

As the city council hopes to have a new city administrator by fall, the survey involves questions about important skills, leadership attributes, and experience needed to succeed in the role. Those who participate are also asked about important issues the Yuma community currently faces.

Participants can also share advice for the next city administrator, their predictions of where they would like to see Yuma in ten years, and how they would like to see the administrator involved in the community.
