Border Patrol finds migrant woman dead near Yuma
A Mexican woman was found dead near Yuma Saturday morning after crossing into the United States illegally with a man, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection ( CBP ).
A spokesperson at CBP explained that with the help of Air and Marine Operations, the two were found along the boundary of the Barry M. Goldwater Bombing Range , but the woman was unresponsive.
When agents arrived first responders began performing CPR and requested aeromedical evacuation. Emergency Medical Technicians arrived at the scene but were unable to revive the woman.
At this time, the woman’s cause of death is being investigated by the county medical examiner, according to a spokesperson at CBP .
CBP warned those who plan to enter the U.S. through the Arizona desert of the extreme heat that can lead to illnesses like dehydration. They added that crossing the border at ports of entry is the safest and only legal way to enter the U.S.
