Boy loses hand after his neighbor allegedly tosses him a firework
A California boy lost his hand after a neighbor allegedly tossed a lit firework at him on his 10th birthday, according to KCTV News.
KCTV News reports that Aaron Corrado was outside his home in Compton when the neighbor and another man approached him. Corrado said the man asked him if he wanted the firework and he declined. The boy said he knew it was a firework but the man lit up the fireworks and gave it to him. KTLA reports the firework exploded in the boy’s hand.
Aaron’s family said the blast from the firework blew off Aaron’s left hand and burned his right hand along with his face and stomach.
According to KTLA News, Aaron underwent four surgeries in 12 days.
Family members said the neighbor has been arrested and investigators are reportedly looking for a second suspect who may have been involved in the incident.
