Yuma County hosting Back to School Immunization Clinic
With the school year almost here Yuma County is hosting a Back to School Immunization clinic for residents to make sure their child’s health record is up to date.
The clinic is being held 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday , July 22 – August 2 at the Health Department Auditorium located at 2200 W. 28th Street.
There is a $10 visit fee (cash only). If the child is covered by AHCCCS / KidsCare they will need an ID card or letter. Yuma County says no child will be turned away for their inability to pay.
Experts at the CDC say immunizations are a valuable public health resource, are cost effective, and help fight preventable diseases throughout the community.
“Vaccines are a convenient, safe, and effective way to promote health and wellness,” says Diana Gomez, Director, Yuma County Public Health Services District. ” Vaccines protect children by helping the immune system create antibodies against certain bacteria or viruses.
All children set to attend a Yuma County school are required to have proof all required immunizations, or a valid exemption.
To utilize the resources of the clinic parents should bring current immunization record, proof of residency, and children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Legal guardians must provide documentation of guardianship.
The Yuma County says they do not accept notes from parents authorizing a third party to bring the child for immunizations.
