RAGU pasta sauce recalled due to plastic fragments
A voluntary recall has been placed by the Food and Drug Administration on select RAGU pasta sauces Friday due to fragments of plastic.
The recall is taking place out of an abundance of caution, as there have not been any consumer injuries or complaints about the product.
Mizkan America who owns RAGU said, retail customers who have not been notified of the recall are not impacted. They are asking consumers to examine any purchased RAGU jars to see if they have been affected by the recall. If the jars are affected the sauce should be discarded and not consumed.
If you purchased the recalled sauce you can call the customer service hotline to receive a replacement at 1-800-328-7248.
Consumers are asked to look for the cap code on the yellow RAGU jar cap and the best use by dates. You can find the list of sauces below.
