MCAS economic impact on Yuma community

The Marine Corp Air Station in Yuma ( MCAS ), generates millions of dollars every year for the community.

That makes MCAS Yuma the second biggest money generator following the billion-dollar agriculture industry.

” Right now our total economic impact for the MCAS is 653-million dollars, ” said Gabby Black, the Community Plan and Liaison Officer.

Black said that the several training courses that take place throughout the year make the difference in generating money. For example the twice a year Weapons and Tactics instructor course that brings about 3 to 4 thousand personnel in spring and fall.

” The weather helps a lot, the support from the Yuma community and the ranges we have here that are utilize for training, ” said Black
