Now that the budget has passed the starting salary is $38,000, but, once an officer completes the academy YPD , said the pay goes up to about $52,000.

YPD said they are looking for candidates ready to serve our community.

” We want people who are going to come here and stay here within our community. If you’re interested and you want to work here. Come apply, ” said Sgt. Lori Franklin, Yuma Police Department.
Applications for those interested are open until August 5.
