Imperial County hosting activities to celebrate Child Support Awareness Month

The Imperial County Department of Child Support Services ( ICDCSS ) recognizes August as Child Support Awareness Month, and is showing their appreciation to families all month long.

On select days in August, ICDCSS is hosting a license release program, extending office hours, and having Child Support on Wheels, to show their appreciation.

With the license release program, parents are allowed for a limited time to reinstate their driver’s licenses that have been suspended for non-payment of child support. Current income information, picture ID, one current payment, and a $25 payment on arrears has to be given. ICDCSS says that some cases, licenses could be released with a lower payment. The program runs from August 1, 2019 to September 30, 2019. After the program is over ICDCSS advises parents who wish to keep their licenses from being suspended again to keep their accounts current.

ICDCSS will have staff members at several locations throughout the Imperial County ready to answer child support case related questions, and to provide general information about child support services. You do not need an appointment for this Child Support on Wheels program and can find staff members at these select locations on the following days:
