Woman stabbed, suspect on the run

A 28-year-old woman was transported to the hospital Friday morning after officers found her with multiple stab wounds to her body. The Yuma Police Department ( YPD ) said the woman is in stable condition.

According to YPD , officers arrived at the scene of a stabbing report at the 26th Street and Virginia Drive where they found the woman with multiple stab wounds.

Authorities said it is unknown if the suspect and victim knew each other. As of now, no arrests have been made.

One witness said they captured the incident on their security cameras.

” We do have video. It is still being looked at. Our ID techs look through all that stuff. So, again it is still an open investigation. All that is being looked into to see if we can identify who the suspect is, ” said Sergeant Lori Franklin.

The man is described as approximately 6-foot tall, average build, last seen wearing a white shirt, pants, and a hat.

The incident is still under investigation.
