Residents experience shaking as result of earthquake

Several residents of the Desert Southwest reported having felt the aftershock of the 7.1 earthquake to hit Kern County Friday night.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported the earthquake at 8:19 p.m. coming out of Ridgecrest, California.

The Yuma Fire Department confirmed at this there are no reports of damage.

Just FYI, we are aware there was an earthquake felt in our area (centered nearly 300 miles from us). No reports of any damage here. Please do not call 9-1-1 to report or ask about this quake.
