Patriotism shines in local home

In the spirit of the Fourth of July holiday, many Americans show their patriotism by hanging American flags.

One local home went all out to display their patriotism.

American flags lined the walkway leading up to the home of retired U.S. Marine and Arizona National Guard, Raymundo Guzman.

Guzman said it’s a reflection of his love for our country.

” It’s just in celebration, and to make people aware that our country was formed on this day. Some people show their patriotism differently and this is just one of our ways of showing it, ” said Guzman.

The Guzman household was decked out in red, white, and blue for their usual Independence Day BBQ.

Firing up the grill to enjoy some hamburgers, hot dogs, and T-bone steaks.

However, being together with family is what’s most important to Guzman.

Like our families at home, America is our family that some of us are born into, and some of us choose to be a part of.

On this holiday, Guzman also remembers his military service members who sacrificed their lives for the United States of America.

The Guzman family traveled from all over Southern California to reunite in Yuma to celebrate our nation’s 243rd birthday together. They also wish everyone a Happy Independence Day.
