City of Somerton to host 4th of July celebration

The 4th of July is just around the corner and the City of Somerton is celebrating the United States’ Independence Day.

Families can look forward to fireworks and the exciting 57,000 water balloon fight, the largest in Yuma County to be exact.

The event will be taking place on July 4 at Council Avenue Park located 801 North Council Avenue from 7 to 11 p.m.

At the free event, there will be live entertainment by Checker’d Past and Tributo a la Cumbia .

If that’s not enough, there will also be a watermelon eating contest, a kids area, and food vendors.
