Amberly’s Place Week in Paradise winners claim their prizes

Amberly’s Place Week in Paradise raffle came to an end, selling a total of 5,000 tickets and reaching their goal of $50,000.

With less than one percent chance of winning one of the prize packages, ten lucky winners were drawn on Thursday evening.

Neither Jeffrey Weeks nor Sajid Herrera expected to win big.

Herrera said, “I’m still a little unbelieving about it up until I got my package.”

Weeks told News 11, ” I didn’t expect to win. When I heard the first name Jeffrey I was waiting for them because they didn’t say Jeffrey Weeks right off the bat. They just said my first name Jeffrey, and then they said Weeks. It took a minute for it to register. Then I said hey that’s me. ”

Both longtime supporters of Amberly’s Place and its annual Week in Paradise raffle, Weeks has participated for four years straight and Herrera for almost a decade.

” My boss Mark Hansberger for about to 10 to 12 years has given us all a ticket for this, ” said Herrera.

Herrera won a trip to Knott’s Berry Farm in Carlsbad, Calif.

Weeks won the grand prize of a Hawaiian getaway.

Without hesitation, when asked who they were going to share their experience with, they both replied, their wives.

Thanking Amberly’s Place and the sponsors for the winning prizes, the winners are ready to start planning their vacations.

But first, Herrera’s intends to thank his boss.

” For him to now know that at least one of us get to make the trip that’s great, after 10 years, thank you Mark , ” Herrera said.

Amberly’s Place fund development coordinator, Trevor Umphress , says Amberly’s place will take care of each of the ten winners’ travel accommodations.

Now, the winners have to tell Umphress when and who they would like to join them on their trips.

The winners have a full calendar year to redeem their prizes.
