Video shows young girl suspected of threatening to kill while holding gun

A video shared on Facebook showing a young girl with a gun is going viral.

The video shows a young girl from El Centro holding a handgun and allegedly threatening to kill someone.

“Next time you come, be aware of me because I ain’t playing with you now, I’m going to kill you,” says the young girl in the video.

She then ends the video by saying, “Tell your mom: Bye, bye.”

Leslie Anaya shared the video on Facebook on Friday. According to her post, the video was sent to her 11-year-old sister.

Anaya shared that the girl in the video is her sister’s classmate at Seeley Elementary School and claimed the girl has been threatening her sister.

Anaya immediately notified authorities about the threat.

The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office located the girl and her parents.

Investigators determined the threat was not a credible one because the gun wasn’t real.

” It was found that the weapon was in fact an airsoft gun. They are like a replica that shoots rubber pallets, they are common. If you remove the orange tip, it completely makes it look like a real gun, ” said Jimmy Duran, Imperial County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant.

Duran says they aren’t taking the threats lightly.

Investigators are still looking further into the incident.

He says the parents of the girl making the threats have been advised and warned about the severity of these types of threats.

” We know that the public is on high alert and that is a good thing, unfortunately some of these situations that occur sometimes get people in trouble. It can be a criminal matter or civil, but it’s still a problem the parent will have to deal with, ” said Duran.

The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office says any online threats of this nature should immediately be reported to authorities.
