” We were just out driving around one day and we came here and out on the front gate they had listings of houses for sale. So I contacted the email address that was listed on the form, ” said Jim Nys.

Nys said he was one of the Reckards’ clients.

He said he found out something wasn’t quite right when he got a letter saying he needed to pay taxes on the home to be worked with Yvette to purchase, something he thought was part of the deal.

Nys claimed he lost about $1,200 as a result.

” She seemed very friendly, very helpful and to find out that I guess we just thought it was poor service up to the point. That we’ve learned about the taxes not being paid, and then we definitely felt, I guess scammed is not a bad word for it, ” said Nys.

As part of Mrs. Reckards’ plea agreement, she must pay more than $400,000 to about 16 people who filed complaints against her.

” Whatever the punishment is, I feel better that she’s being held accountable, yes, ” said Nys.
