KSWT sits down with Yuma Rodeo Royalty

We had the privilege of being joined by rodeo royalty, two girls who play a large role in this community.

Meet Silver Spur Rodeo Queen Kaitlynn Salter & Teen Queen Mya Preston, two girls who love to ride their horses.

The Rodeo Royalty girls hold weekly fundraisers at Texas Roadhouse to raise money to go to out-of-town rodeos in order to represent the town of Yuma in yearly rodeos.

In addition, the girls make school trips to teach young students about the fun of rodeo.

The girls say their favorite part about being Rodeo Royalty is being able to answer questions and advocate for their group.

If being involved in rodeos sounds like something you would enjoy, the girls urge you to take a leap and apply.

The girls are headed to Prescott next month to take place in the oldest rodeo.

Also, of course, coming up in February 2020 is the 75th annual Silver Spur Rodeo here in Yuma.

This local rodeo allows the girls to mingle with people from the community and meet new people from other areas that are competing.

The girls wanted to take time to thank their local, national and personal sponsors.
