Phoenix woman allegedly drives car into officers outside gas station

A Phoenix woman who allegedly drove a car into three police officers outside a gas station was arrested on June 4 and is now saying she did it to get their attention.

AZ Family (CBS 5) in Phoenix reported Lori Relf, 56, drove a 2011 Kia Soul into three police officers. On June 4, two of the police officers were sitting in the patrol car, and the third was standing between the two cars. In the video, Relf is seen driving into both police cars and then taking off.

Relf said she did this to get the officer’s attention because according to the police report, she “was being held against her will by the two male passengers”.

CBS 5 reported both men, who were also in the car at the time of the incident, denied holding Relf against her will. One man admitted that they had been smoking crack cocaine for about two days before the incident. According to police, Relf also admitted to smoking crack about two hours before the incident.

Surveillance video from the QT gas station shows Relf allegedly had plenty of time alone in the store to be able to notify the police outside, the police report said.

One officer was left with a possible broken nose, and another officer had a cut on his head.

Relf is being held on a $25,000 bond.
