Kidnapping suspect pleads not guilty to new charges

A man accused of kidnapping a woman and leading police on a chase earlier this year has pleaded not guilty to new charges.

According to court documents, Robert Marcus Cuen was arrested on three new felony charges on May 24.

In his arraignment on Monday, Cuen pleaded not guilty to those charges. These charges include misconduct involving weapons, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In his previous case, Cuen faces four felony charges including aggravated assault and unlawful flight from pursuing law enforcement, according to court documents.

In that incident, Cuen was arrested after Yuma Police Department said he approached a victim known to him and pointed a gun at the victim.

YPD said when they were able to make contact with Cuen, he led them on a short pursuit.

In a case management conference on Tuesday, Cuen’s defense attorney asked the judge to continue his latest case along with his previous one.

The judge agreed and Cuen is expected back in court on July 16.
