Local car clubs fight hunger in the community with food drive

A few local car clubs are doing their part to battle hunger in the Yuma community.

The inaugural ” War on Hunger ” food drive hosted by car clubs such as Dezert Syndicate and Elegance, took food donation that will go towards the Yuma Community Food bank.

Joe Teposte , President of the Dezert Syndicate car and bike Club said the Yuma community always comes together to lend a helping hand when there’s a need.

” Especially during the Summer months we have a shortage in donations for the food bank, Amberly’s Place as well as Crossroads Mission. Well, so many nonprofits like Healing Journey out there. And you know what this is just…we need to help them out. We need to do our best to make sure they get the supplies that they need, ” said Teposte .

The ” War on Hunger ” food drive will be taking donations until 6 P. M Saturday in the parking lot of Tarros Chicali Sports Bar on highway 95.
