Food for Fines: Summer Edition
Bring in cans of food to pay for your overdue fines during Food for Fines: Summer Edition at Yuma County Libraries! From 9:00 a.m. Monday, June 3rd, until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13th, one dollar in overdue fines will be cleared for every 10 oz. (or larger) can of food that is donated. Only labeled cans will be accepted. No glass jars, or dented or expired cans, please. All cans of food will be donated to a local food pantry or assistance agency.

Summer Theater Camp
Beginning Tuesday, June 4th, the Main Library, in collaboration with Yuma Community Theater, will offer the 6th Annual Summer Theatre Camp for youth ages 12-18. For the first time ever, the theater camp will focus on making a musical! Students will have an opportunity to learn theatre basics, including acting, costumes, and props. On Saturday, June 29th, students will perform “Just Another High School Musical” for family and friends to demonstrate what they’ve learned!

Workshops will be held every Tuesday and Thursday through June 27th from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Main Library, 2951 S 21st Drive. There is no charge to attend.

Border Patrol K-9 Demo
On Wednesday, June 5th, learn more about the furry heroes of the U.S. Border Patrol at 2:30 p.m. at the Wellton Library! BP agents will discuss the types of dogs selected, how dogs are trained, and what tasks they’re trained to perform as part of the K-9 unit. Watch one of the dogs in action with an agent. There is no charge to attend.
