Second suspect behind bars in connection to car burglaries

Another suspect is behind bars in connection to the 12 car burglaries and two cars stolen in Somerton .

20-year-old Marcos Esteban Gonzalez was arrested Friday by the Yuma Police Department on separate charges, according to the Somerton Police Department.

One juvenile was already in custody on Wednesday, but SPD was still following possible leads.

The Somerton Police Department warned the community after the series of burglaries began on May 27.

The break-ins occurred on the southeast side of Somerton in the neighborhood near Tierra del Sol Elementary.

Gonzalez is facing a total of six theft-related charges and one drug charge between the two incidents.

He is being held on a $15,000 bond.
