Proper ritual ceremony to replace American Flag

On this Memorial Day, a “ragged old flag ” was properly retired in a formal ritual ceremony only to be replaced with a brand-new one.

” Let’s take a deep breath and look at these gentlemen who have served the country honorably and ask what this flag means to them, ” said Patricia, manager of the Westward Village Mobile Home and RV Park.

Among the heroes present at the ceremony was Dan Dorn , who served for 28 years as an Air Traffic Controller in the Marine Corps. During the ceremony, he said the stars and the stripes represent a beacon of hope that he is proud of.

” I look at some things where I think people have lost sight of what that flag means and what it has come through over the years, ” said Dorn .
