Local elementary school holds career week

James B. Rolle Elementary School held their career week and professionals from different parts of the workforce got to present and share what they do on a daily basis.

A group of elementary school students gathered at the cafeteria each day starting the week of May 13 through May 17.

News 11’s Gabe Salazar got to present on the first day of the career week and spoke to students about what he does on a daily basis as well as how to set goals.

The career week focused on setting big and attainable goals as well as inspiring and exposing this group of second graders to different career paths.

The weeks comes just as six students from the school travel to Michigan to represent Yuma in the Odyssey of the Mind world competition.

At the end of the week, students had the opportunity to dress up as their favorite career presenter.
