Swire Coca-Cola holds ceremony for new sales center and warehouse

Swire Coca-Cola is set to open a new sales center and warehouse here in Yuma.

City Officials gathered at the future sales center and warehouse facility for Swire Coca-Cola at 7420 E 30th St.

Swire Coca-Cola, USA, the bottler for Coca-Cola® and other leading beverages in Arizona and 12 other western states, will break ground on a new sales center and warehouse facility on May 22.

At 56,000 square feet, the new facility will be three times the size of the current facility on 19th Street. The warehouse will accommodate the broad product line that Swire Coca-Cola now distributes, including Monster, POWERADE as well as classic favorites such as Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, and Fanta.

“The corporate sponsorship and the corporate citizenship really in our community, it is something that we rely upon and is a mutually beneficial arrangement.” says Yuma mayor Doug Nicholls who spoke at the ceremony.

Sustainability will be at the heart of the new facility. Swire Coca-Cola is carefully studying the possibility of installing solar panels on the new facility to maximize the production of clean energy. The new building will include a significant number of energy efficiency components, such as HVAC and lighting systems.

For water conservation, its beverages will primarily be produced at Swire Coca-Cola’s Tempe production center, which is water neutral after supporting water replenishment projects on the Verde River.

Jon Pitts, sales center manager for Swire Coca-Cola says, “The future of Yuma and keeping us on the map and everyone knows that Yuma is a very generous town and we all work together and have a vision and we’re here to support that vision as well.”

The company’s territory includes parts of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
