Bond reduction denied for woman who allegedly attempted to murder her partner

A woman who was arrested back in April remains in custody after allegedly attempting to kill her partner.

The suspect, Traci Lynn Vanakin along with the victim, were present at the hearing where the victim told his side of the story claiming Vanaken had pre-planned his murder. Victim describes the night of the event as a horrific event where their children were present at the home and said if Vanaken was released she would be a danger to the community, himself, and the children.

According to court documents she faces charges for attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Vanaken’s lawyer asked the judge to decrease Vanaken’s bond to $25,000 and asked for Vanaken’s release to be placed in resident care for further evaluation.

The judge denied the lawyer’s request ordering the bond to stay the same, $500,000.
