WEEK OF MAY 20TH

Main Library 10th Birthday
On Tuesday, May 21st, the Yuma Main Library is celebrating its 10th birthday! Join us from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. for refreshments, raffle prizes, crafts, and demonstrations of the library’s virtual reality systems! Learn more about various resources and services, library programs, and how to download eBooks and other media.

All ages are welcome. There is no charge to attend. Refreshments provided by the Friends of Yuma County Libraries, Inc.

Stargazing
Stargazers can enjoy the cosmos at the Foothills Library! The library’s astronomy group will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23rd and 30th, in the Foothills Library parking lot, 13226 E. South Frontage Road. Lawn chairs, binoculars, and telescopes welcome!

Telescopes will be provided courtesy of the Friends of the Foothills Library. There is no charge to attend.

Genealogy Workshop: The Paperless Genealogist

From pedigrees to printouts, too much paper can be time-consuming and expensive to organize and store. Digital files are economical, efficient, and ecological. On Saturday, May 25th, the Genealogical Society of Yuma will host “The Paperless Genealogist” webinar at 10:30 a.m. at the Main Library. Presenter Denise May Levenick will share a step-by-step plan to move toward less paper to ensure the best of both paper and digital worlds in genealogical research. There is no charge to attend.
