Man accused of leading police on pursuit enters change of plea

The man accused of kidnapping a woman then taking her along while trying to get away from the police is entering a change of plea.

Robert Cuen, 33, appeared in court Tuesday in a final management conference.

A final management conference is intended to address any remaining issues in the case before going to trial.

Robert Marcus Cuen was arrested on March 5 on seven felony charges.

In his initial appearance in Yuma Justice Court, Robert Cuen was informed that he was being charged with two counts of misconduct involving weapons, one count each of unlawful flight from pursuing law enforcement, and aggravated assault per domestic violence.

Cuen’s bond was increased from $33,800 to a $50,000 cash bond.

Cuen was arrested after Yuma police (YPD) said he approached a victim known to him and pointed a gun at the victim.

YPD said when officers were able to make contact with Cuen, he led them on a short pursuit.

He is expected to be back in court on June 11.
