Goodwill hiring fest to combat rising unemployment rates

Goodwill hosted its hiring fest on Thursday, May 9 at the Yuma Career Center located at 3097 South 8th Avenue.

Event organizers hope the hiring fest will help in Yuma’s rising unemployment rates. As of February 2019, the unemployment rate stands at 16.5%.

According to the press release, an optional information session will begin at 9:30 a.m. through 10:30 a.m. The information session will connect attendees with no-cost digital skills classes and computer certifications.

The job fair was held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Goodwill hopes the event will help attendees build professional connections and could lead to on-site interviews.
