One local man dies in SR-78 crash

A 31-year-old man from Palo Verde, Calif. died after a crash on SR-78 on Wednesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP said the driver of a 1994 Kenworth truck, identified as Marco Lopez, was traveling east of Butters Road when the driver of a Toyota pick up truck drove into the same direction and collided with the Kenworth.

CHP has not identified .the driver that died. The driver of the Kenworth had minor injuries. The crash is currently being investigated.
