Fire in Blythe under investigation

The Blythe Police Department received a call on Wednesday night in regards to heavy smoke coming from a residence at 248 East Barnard.

According to the Blythe Police Department and Blythe Fire Department, they responded to a home that was completely surrounded in flames. The fire was extinguished and the area was searched for evidence. Officers say no subjects were located in the area of the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Officers say they are unsure of what caused the fire but believe it may have been subjects who were illegally trespassing in the vacant home.
