Election season kicks off in Yuma

The City of Yuma city council approved a resolution to kick off election season during Wednesday night’s regular council meeting.

The City of Yuma Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 27 for the purpose of nominating and electing candidates, according to city documents.

There are three city council seats up for election and one seat open for the position of municipal judge.

The City of Yuma said the General Election will be held November 5 for the purpose of electing the candidates that have not been declared elected at the Primary Election.

Candidates who are elected to the noted positions will serve a four-year term beginning January 1, 2020, and ending December 31, 2013.
