Mexico mayor kidnapped, killed
Authorities in the Mexican state of Michoacan say that a mayor has been kidnapped and killed.
The Michoacan state prosecutor’s office says that Nahuatzen Mayor David Eduardo Otlica Aviles was kidnapped in the early hours Tuesday and his body found some hours later.
The town is about 250 miles (400 kilometers) west of Mexico City.
The mayor’s body was found in Cortijo Viejo, more than an hour’s drive away.
The office said in a statement that the murder was under investigation, but offered no other details.
