Loved ones react to arrest of suspect in murder of Brawley business owner
It’s been over a month since 43-year-old Ryan Harsany’s life was tragically taken after being shot to death, but now police finally have a suspect behind bars.
Harsany, who owned the Inferno restaurant in Brawley, was murdered inside his skating rink business near the San Bernardino area in March.
An official from the San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Office told News 11 that 25-year-old Tre’elle Potts, of Moreno Valley, was accused of the murder and arrested last week.
Harsany’s twin brother Brian, never gave up hope that a suspect would be arrested for his brother’s murder.
Brian said, “I knew there was going to be a break eventually. It was just a matter of time. Sometimes these investigations take some timing. You have to be patient.”
But the family still has a hard time coming to terms with Ryan’s death.
“You know the pain and the grief gets a little worse. Knowing that they’re not coming home. The phone calls don’t come any longer and the text messages,” said Brian.
The outpouring support from the community has helped the family cope with their loss.
Brian said, “An eye-opener for how many people he affected. Not just on the vigils but messages I receive on Facebook from strangers he used to work with.”
Steven Rubio, general manager at Inferno, said employees are still trying to keep Harsany’s legacy alive.
“With him being gone the atmosphere has changed. But a lot of people are coming in to support us which is really great. And most of our staff are trying to be what Ryan was but we could never fill that void,” said Rubio.
The Harsany family hopes to find closure someday.
“We’ve heard from many people who have lost loved ones from a murder that the grieving process never ends. It’s a chapter that you never get to change,” said Brian.
The Harsany family is awaiting the preliminary hearing of Potts which is scheduled for the first week of May.
