Arrest made in death of Brawley business owner
A man has been arrested for the fatal shooting of a popular Brawley business owner, who was found dead inside his Grand Terrace, California business last month, according to authorities.
Authorities arrested 25-year-old Tre’elle Potts, of Moreno Valley, and charged him with the murder of 43-year-old Ryan Harsany.
Potts faces allegations of arson causing bodily injury and using a firearm, according to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office. Potts pleaded not guilty to these charges during his initial court appearance.
The Central Station/Grand Terrace Police Department responded to a business in the 22000 block of Commerce Way just before 1:50 a.m. on March 16, after the agency received reports of a silent alarm being triggered.
When deputies arrived, smoke could be seen coming from the business.
Both deputies and fire personnel entered the building, and found 43-year-old Brawley resident, Ryan Harsany. He was transported to a hospital.
Doctors discovered he had suffered gunshot wounds, and was pronounced dead just before 7:30 a.m., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office.
Brian Harsany, the victim’s brother told News 11 previously, “I’ve had so many instant messages from people he worked with that always tell me, ‘I know you don’t know who I am. But I knew your brother very well. He was a loving man and whatever happened to him was not right.”
