Trial delayed for Arizona woman accused of text stalking

An attorney for an Arizona woman charged with stalking a man she met on a dating site says her trial has been delayed by at least 60 days.

The Arizona Republic reports the attorney says the trial of Jacqueline Ades on stalking and criminal trespassing charges was ordered delayed earlier this month after two mental-health professionals found her mentally incompetent to stand trial, but restorable, while a third diagnosed her as mentally competent.

Authorities say that after a single date she sent the man more than 159,000 text messages — including some with threats that she says were jokes — and broke into his home.

The Phoenix woman pleaded not guilty and has been in custody since May 2018. She was deemed mentally incompetent in March.
