Missing man’s truck found by agents

Border Patrol agents found the truck of a man who has been missing for more than a month, but there was no sign of the man behind the wheel.

Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) deputies then arrived on the scene to try to locate William “Bud” Hardy.

Hardy’s truck was found about six miles southeast of County 14th Street and Foothills Boulevard, according to YCSO.

“Bill never came back. Bill does not do that. Bill always comes back. He’s never gone on leave and never came back. He’s always come back. We’ve never had him gone leave and not come back. He’s always come back. He’s never even been gone overnight unless somebody knows where he’s gone,” explained a neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous.

A neighbor explained the last time they saw Bill leave his home.

“He left in his truck. He talked to the neighbor and said I’ll be right back. I’m expecting someone to stop over. Will you tell them I’ll be right back?” explained the neighbor.

Hardy never returned to his home on Ocotillo Road.

“Bill was a quiet person. He kept to himself. He was pretty much a loner. He had a routine each day and we’d see him go back and forth in his truck,” explained another neighbor.

Hardy’s neighbors are still hopeful.

“At least something positive has happened. We’ve been waiting for six or seven weeks and perhaps they will find him now.”

Hardy is described as 5’10 and about 180 pounds, according to YCSO.

If you have any information on where Hardy could be, you are urged to call YCSO or 78-CRIME to stay anonymous.
